Houston wrap-up

Beastie Boys - So What'cha Want

I must say, it was a great trip. I had always heard that Houston was this horrible wasteland, akin to Los Angeles in the blockbuster Kurt Russell movie, Escape from LA. I was very much surprised at how impressive the whole area is. I dunno about Kingwood being a "liveable forest," but it's a nice enough town. Getting down to the baseball games on Tuesday and Wednesday was a breeze, and the people seem genuine.

Both games were fun, and a bit of a different experience both times. The first game we sat in the 'Crawford Boxes,' those seats that you see just above the scoreboard at Minute Maid. They were good seats, and we got a good view of everything going on. The second night, we sat at the club level along 3rd base. Having my own waitress at a baseball game reminded me of the Simpsons episode where they go to a hockey game and sit in the suites: "Look at them watching hockey without sushi, if you can call that hockey." I'm not gonna lie, though, if I lived in Houston I'd have season tickets right in that section.

So to wrap it all up, it was good times and Houston is a very cool place. If I had to work there to get the kinda cash I want after school, I'd have no problems with that. I've put up the pictures from the games; they'll be the last using my current camera. Can't wait to get the new Fuji F450 in on Monday. I'm sure I'll use it for productive things like taking pics of my car and such.
