A five week class

Rage Against the Machine - Calm Like a Bomb

Thank God for summer sessions. I knew that I had been putting BCIS (Business Computer something or another) off for a reason, and now I know why. I don't profess to be any kind of computer genius, but this class makes me feel like a huge geek. It's like somewhere along the line, they forgot to update the class for 2005 and are still teaching materials for 1997.

I skipped a lecture yesterday which I'm sure was enthralling; introduction to the internet. Last week was computer basics with a 5 minute explanation of exactly what a "QWERTY" keyboard is. Isn't this something that everyone learned back in the 8th grade during computer literacy? Is there any possible reason why I should be forced to spend $300-500 on a class covering programs that we use in every other class at the school? No offense, but Powerpoint, Word, and Excel aren't exactly news to 95% of college students. We've had to use at least one of them every semester since plunking down that first tuition payment.

Somehow I feel like the worst is yet to come...
