Man-purse

Led Zeppelin - In My Time of Dying

It's really too bad that the man-purse doesn't exist, or if it does exist, a guy would look goofy as hell carrying it. I'm thoroughly convinced that the fanny pack was a secret plot by some guy to have the versatility of carrying a bag with you everywhere, without being asked, "Hey...is that your purse?" Man, that would've been awesome if people hadn't caught on right away and placed it firmly in the "uncool" category.

Being absent of some sort of masculine tote, I have to pick and choose what comes with me. I don't think I ever leave the apartment without at least my cell phone and iPod shuffle. There's just something magical about being able to whip out that Shuffle and listen to a few songs while waiting on food, walking to class, or whatever other crazy adventures take place here in North Texas. Add to that the house keys, car keys, chapstick, pen, wallet, and watch; no wonder I feel like a woman whenever I go somewhere.

Completely disregarding everything above, I've decided I want a more portable camera to replace my aging Fujifilm A303. I've been nothing but happy with the pictures it takes, but it's too big and clunky to be something I can grab and shove in my pocket without thinking about it.

I'm thinking of using some Dell gift certificates I've evidently earned, and getting a Fujifilm F440. It's about a 1/4" shorter, half as thick, and a few ounces lighter than my A303. With this new camera, I could officially become that person; the one who always has to have a picture taken of everything. I'm sure everyone I know would love that....

I went ahead and ordered the camera from Dell! Turns out that I'll be getting the F450 and not the F440, so it's a whole megapixel better. I'll be putting that extra megapixel to good use, I'm sure.

Good deal!! A whole megapixel better!! That is impressive, but does it go to 11? :)

On the subject of man purses, you might want to checkout http://www.mountainsmith.com . They have some pretty nifty bags and they don't look too San Francisco. :) You may recall the bag I brought with me to Los Angeles during last year's E3. Perfect sized for all your gadgets.

haha...not that I know of, but it does record sound in movies, unlike my old camera. My old camera is 3.2 megapixels, btw, and this new ones is 5.2, so the images should be really awesome. Just too bad I didn't have my old camera with me those last couple nights in Vegas.

Which bag in particular are you talking about? They all look like either backpacks or fannypacks.

I know a couple of guys at my work that carry plain black backpacks so they can carry all of their stuff...

Yeah, you definitely don't look out of place carrying a backpack to work or to school. I'm talking all around, though. "Let's go get some food and maybe hit up a movie," "Ok, cool...lemme just grab my backpack."

Not quite the same....
